St. John's Christmas Potluck Supper 2007
On December 9, 2007, St. John's Parish hosted its Annual Christmas Potluck Supper
The Church Hall was decorated in a festive manner with a beautiful Christmas tree on the stage. Mariette Hickey and Dave Pineau provided lively Christmas music throughout the evening. A DVD was also playing throughout with photos from the Parish’s website.
The parishioners were invited to "Come celebrate with your Parish Family", to bring a friend and their favourite dish (casserole, salad, dessert for the buffet). Also, a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation was requested for the Garson Community Food Bank. The response was very good and many items were received.
Father Mathieu led us in saying Grace before the delicious potluck meal was served.
The entertainment that followed the meal was hilarious and certainly enjoyed by all. Jeannie Grignon narrated a skit called, “I am a Bird Watcher” that was performed by 13 members of the Parish. As each “bird” arrived, we learned about the various species encountered on an average Sunday at Church.
A function like this required the support and assistance of many people and St. John’s Parish is truly blessed to have so many people that give so willing of their time and talents. The Social Committee extends a big thank you to all those that participated in this event.
Peace and Good Wishes to All for a Truly Blessed Christmas!
