Parishioners were invited to attend the luncheon in the Church Hall following Mass and to bring a cup of prepared vegetables, noodles or rice to contribute to the communal pot.  The soup was prepared by the Parish Social Committee while Mass was celebrated.  Approximately 60 people attended the luncheon.

Upon arrival, everyone was offered refreshments of coffee, tea and juice while they took a few minutes to socialize.  Deacon Rev. Mr. Paul Labelle prayed the Grace before the lunch was served.   Once again, Harvey Quackenbush provided homemade bread and buns that was enjoyed by all, along with a bowl or two of steaming hot, delicious soup.

A video entitled, “Rebuilding our Villages, Rebuilding our Lives” in the aftermath of the Tsunami of December 26, 2004, was shown following the meal.  Comments on the video were provided by Brenda Dumontelle.  A sincere thank you goes out to the Social Justice Committee, Harvey Quackenbush, Doreen Merkas, Brenda Dumontelle, June McDonald, Bob Retty and Marilyn Schroeder, for co-ordinating this event.  We build stronger bonds of community in our Parish, as we join together for a meal and learn about the good works Development & Peace, along with their partners, accomplished as they helped the people rebuild communities in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

A silver collection was taken and the money was donated to the Share Lent program.

Thank you also to the social committee who set up the hall, prepared the soup and served the lunch.

ONE WITH GOD AND NEIGHBOUR!  SOLIDARITY IN MOTION!
